Wheelchair Vans


Blue & White is working to be compliant with the City of Minneapolis ordinance that requires 10% of our fleet to be wheelchair accessible vans. It is been a tedious process, given that Blue & White does not own vehicles itself, and does not have the police powers to force it’s owners to do this, but we expect to be in compliance with wheelchair accessible vans by 7/31/2011.
We are encouraging drivers to get the proper training required for transporting individuals in wheelchairs, and once we find drivers that will elect to do it, we will be more than happy to provide this service. This may take a little longer given that drivers are independent contracted, and under Minnesota Administrative rules 5224.0260, we cannot force their training.
But, we are working on it.
